Supported Lodgings

We welcome young persons aged 16 or over into our own homes. We call it supported lodgings – by welcoming a young person we provide emotional support and help them to learn the everyday, practical skills they will need for adult life. Young people may need a place to live because:

·  There are behaviour problems, drug or alcohol use, family breakdown in their own homes

·  They were previously in foster care

·  They have learning disability or mental health problems

·  They are unaccompanied asylum seekers 16 or 17

Every day is different but they may need help with:

·  Getting education, training or work

·  Managing money

·  Learning to cook and do house work

·  Attending appointments

Supported Lodgings offer less intensive support in order to promote young people’s independence skills to prepare them into moving on to their own accommodation at 18 years of age.
